Job Summary:

Surfactant Chemical Company is seeking an experienced and visionary Operations Manager – Pakistan to oversee and optimise key business functions including Finance, Supply Chain, HR, IT, Manufacturing Site Management, Administration, and the Surfactants Innovation Centre Operations. Based in Karachi, this senior-level role is critical for ensuring operational excellence, driving process improvements, and supporting strategic initiatives across the organisation. The Operations Manager will report directly to the General Manager, Pakistan.

Responsibilities:

• Operational Leadership: Oversee day-to-day operations across Finance, Supply Chain, HR, IT, Manufacturing Site, Administration, and the Surfactants Innovation Centre to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.
• Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement operational strategies and policies that align with the company’s business objectives and growth plans.
• Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, financial reporting, cost controls, and resource allocation to drive profitability and operational sustainability.
• Supply Chain Management: Optimise procurement, logistics, inventory, and distribution to support manufacturing and market needs.
• HR & Talent Development: Lead talent acquisition, training, performance management, and foster a culture of engagement and continuous improvement.
• IT & Digital Transformation: Oversee IT infrastructure, digital initiatives, and data security to enhance operational efficiency and innovation.
• Manufacturing Site Management: Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations at the manufacturing facility, driving continuous improvement and quality standards.
• Administration: Supervise administrative functions to support business continuity and compliance.
• Innovation Centre Operations: Support and drive research, development, and innovation initiatives at the Surfactants Innovation Centre.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, regulatory authorities, and industry stakeholders.
• Systems Compliance: Ensures compliances to International Standards Organization’s (ISO’s) defined systems and procedures.

Requirements:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       

• 10+ years of progressive experience in operations management, preferably within the chemical, manufacturing, or related sectors.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in finance, supply chain, manufacturing site management, HR, and IT operations.
• Strong leadership and people management skills with a track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving organisational change.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with regulatory, safety, and compliance standards relevant to manufacturing and innovation operations in Pakistan.
