GERENOL ® W-400:

GERENOL ® W Series, anonic surfactants in nature, are α-Olefin sulfonates produced by sulfonating α-olefins, typically using sulfur trioxide. Subsequent alkaline hydrolysis gives a mixture of alkene sulfonates (60-65%) and hydroxyalkane sulfonates (35-40%).

applications:

GERENOL ® W Series are excellent wetting agents for use in WP and WDG formulations along with their capability to maintain performance in alkaline and acidic conditions, allowing flexibility for agrochemical formulators. These are electrolyte tolerant wetting agents and demonstrated strong performance in granule/powder formulations. Ideally combined with OPTIMUS ® AN-700P/Q2 or OPTIMUS ® AN-500P. These are compatible with other surfactants including non-ionic, amphoteric or anionic co-surfactants.

Normal safety precautions (i.e. gloves and safety goggles) should be employed when handling these surfactants. Contact with the eyes and prolonged contact with the skin should be avoided. Wash thoroughly after handling materials.
Surfactants which have been stored at low temperatures may thicken or solidify. They can be fluidized by warming with a drum heater or in a steam room. Drums should be vented prior to heating to avoid excessive pressure build up. Product temperatures over 54°C are not recommended.
